[ she's... already looking around, a little bewildered. she's been in this room before and knows what it can do, but it had only been projecting the small living room of the benriya's apartment before.
Once she has his elbow, he, like, virtually "leads her up the stairs," except... instead of movement, the room kind of just changes from the outside to the inside.
oh that's a strange thing to experience. she hesistates as the room changes, and has to stumble herself forwards to keep pace, but the combination of the sudden change and what the building changes to is like a double whammy. ]
Blanca has a steady hold on her, so she will be fine even if she stumbles under the magnificence of the New York Public Library. He offers her a smile, and lowers his arm if she wants to let go to explore.]
It's very busy, but surprisingly... cozy. I mentored a boy I would bring here from time to time because he was a voracious reader.
Not exactly. I was teaching him how to... survive in the world he had been trapped in.
[In fact (this will be right up your alley, becks), there is someone sitting somewhat far off at one of the tables. It's hard to make them out, but the blonde hair, and little form are easy to see. The boy can't be any older than fifteen at the most.]
He glances up when he spots her. He's in as much of a ridiculous pirate outfit as everyone else, and he's just vibing by himself at a table out of the way. He has a meal, and a pint of something probably alcohol. Like he's having a fucking jolly ol' time.]
Hello, Miss Alex.
[He offers her a smile, and then motions to the seat across from him politely.]
It's healing. I think the stitches can come out in a day or two. How are you doing?
[ all of these threads this week happening in pirate cosplay brings me so much joy, you don't understand. glad he's getting drunk and living his best life. ]
I'm fine. [ is she close enough for him to tell otherwise? she is. mostly fine? there's a lowkey wave of anxiety somewhere in there but whatever's causing it she's keeping it pretty tightly locked down. ] Just a little sore, but everything's healing up.
I realised I never thanked you for getting me out of there, not really. So, thank you for that. Especially when you were so injured.
[STOP. It's fine. He's got the stupid jacket off, and he's left in some real uppity bell-sleeved, Interview with the Vampire white shirt.]
No thanks necessary. I couldn't just allow a pretty woman to get left behind, or hurt while the rest of us could run out.
[He smiles at her again. This close, she can tell he's surprisingly genuine in both his charm and how he's feeling. She seems to have put him in good spirits.]
Still. It's rude not to thank you for it. Sora and I would've been in trouble if you hadn't found us when you did. [ she assumes. she's just been told they were in tubes and that was Bad. ]
Hm? Oh, yes. He kept an eye on me. [ she sighs. ] I think I ended up dragging him through a lot of extra trouble last week, honestly.
Then I appreciate your thanks. It wasn't any trouble. Well, I guess we were all in a bit of trouble, weren't we? Which is why it was best if we helped each other out. I'm glad you and Sora are okay.
[His lips curl; there's a teasing little roll of feeling that tickles her from across the table.]
I don't think he minded. He's a very adventurous man.
[ me, looking directly through the laptop screen at anna. 😒 ]
[ ... ;;; yes blanca??? ]
Well... depending on how long we'd been away, the effects of last week were probably bothering him by that point. [ ... ] Like I said, I think I put him through a lot of trouble.
[He's use to the surprise of waking up on Mondays and being somewhere completely different. But he wasn't expecting to wake up and be greeted with Alex, of all people.
He stays sitting on the edge of his own bed for a moment or two, and then says gently,]
[ she's been used to being on her own for the past week, a little lonely but it'd been alright once she got used to it. however, hearing someone else call out her name this early has her shooting upright in bed in surprise. ]
Oh-- no don't worry. I'm a light sleeper, and I guess I wasn't really expecting anyone to be here after last week.
[ congrats on not having dicks out in a fall murdergame anna, you buck the naked heelie trend. ]
I don't mind. It got a little too quiet last week.
[ from somewhere in the blankets, her little t-rex sticks her snout out and looks around. she's been sleeping on twoplushies, like some sort of spoiled child. which she probably is at this point. ]
His own t-rex seems to be burrowed down in between the pillow and the top of the covers, snoozing. There's no plushies, but there is a four-foot by one-foot case at the bottom of the bed on the floor. It has four clasps on the top where the handle is.
At the foot of the bed is a booked called, A Farewell to Arms.]
[ she rubs her eyes to properly wake herself up, and dangles her legs off the edge of the bed. ]
New week, new location? [ she gets a foot on the ladder and uses it to jump down without actually having to climb. she'll reach back up for the t-rex, which has scrabbled to the edge of the bed and is giving a very t-rex like look of betrayal that her mama left her. ]
w1, tuesday
When Alex comes into the vrooooom, Blanca is already there. He turns, but offers her a smile of greeting when he realizes it's her.]
Hello, Miss Alex.
[The room has since changed for him. They are standing on the street in front of a large, elaborate building.]

[ she's... already looking around, a little bewildered. she's been in this room before and knows what it can do, but it had only been projecting the small living room of the benriya's apartment before.
this is so much bigger and grander. ]
Where is this...?
no subject
The New York Public Library. It's quite big, isn't it? But it's filled with so many good books. It was a favorite place of mine.
[He offers her his elbow.]
Want me to show you around?
no subject
but she takes the elbow when it's offered, still staring up at the sheer size of the building. ]
This is huge.

Once she has his elbow, he, like, virtually "leads her up the stairs," except... instead of movement, the room kind of just changes from the outside to the inside.
If she thought the outside was big, haha!!]

it’s very fancy. she’s allowed a stumble of surprise. ]
Mentoring... are you a professor?

Not exactly. I was teaching him how to... survive in the world he had been trapped in.

I wouldn't worry about it. He's a formidable man as well as an adventurous one. He was probably concerned about you more than himself.
[He motions at the table sort of like he did before.]
Would you like anything to eat or drink?

Miss Alex. It's morning.

-- ???!!!
-- Oh. Blanca, it's you.

[He at least wasn't hovering over her on the bed trying to wake her up. Also? He's got clothes on! He isn't naked, or some other weird shit.]
It looks like we may be roommates this week. If you'd like the room to yourself, however, I don't mind.

Any guesses on what it could be this time?
no subject
I would like to say I've seen everything, but this place continues to surprise me. So I haven't the slightest clue.
[He does stand into a small stretch, though.]

What have we had so far... pirates, jungle... I don’t really remember the exact location of the first week though. [ ... bad. ]
