He's got a good heart, but he is very.... cunning. I can't get him to not look at the future, or make plans, especially when it comes to protecting people.
Mm. Remember when we knew him as a merchant before he told us what he really was. Merchants have to think on their feet, know what to sell and not to sell, all to get the best kind of reward.

I think you're right. It's just... surprising to me, even having guessed it couldn't have been good, that he would earnestly be the way he is. Maybe he isn't completely.
Though the ones I know from home who have been beaten down by the worst parts of the world all have a wall of thorns, or the sharpest claws, and only serve themselves and a trusted few.

For most, things like that would weigh on you, and change you for the worst. But someone like him...despite everything, he puts others before himself. I think he's just a young man who truly loves everything the world has to offer.

You expect most kings to be egocentric in just about everything. Sometimes I wonder how he got to be a king like that.
