...they start to wonder who they are. And they start to feel like they're helpless. And sometimes, they fight back.

[just. in general.] That's exactly right though. That's just another reason I want to try to get to know everyone and let people know that we're all on the same team even if it's a competition. That there are people who will help them. I don't think that's wrong.

It isn't wrong. [He smiles slightly.] You remind me of someone back home. Someone I don't know very well, but who I recently met. A friend of a friend, if you will.

Yeah? [perhaps it doesn't matter, but that catches his interest.]

How'd you meet them? [blanca just said they're a friend of a friend, but that doesn't mean much.]

[The smile almost turns into an amused laugh.]

His name is Eiji. He came to New York from Japan with someone else. Almost like a vacation, in a way.

He's extremely kind and empathetic. I don't think he ever gives up, even if he's scared. And his friend, Ash; he cares a great deal about Ash, even more than being in danger. He hurts when Ash hurts, and he hates seeing Ash hurt.

Oh...[that's a familiar feeling.] They sound close. But isn't that how everyone is with the people they really care about?

[maybe not to that extreme, sora, but again he absolutely sees parallels here.]
